Swanage railway steam train

Take the children for a ride on the Swanage steam Railway. It runs from Swanage station to Norden where there is an exciting play area for energetic young people to work off high spirits.

The Blue Pool in Furzebook near Wareham is well worth a visit. It started life as a quarry and is now a deep blue pool sitting in wonderful surroundings.

Brownsea Island

Catch a ferry to Brownsea Island. in Poole Harbour where the scout movement started. It’s beauty and wildlife is cared for by the National Trust. A wonderful spot to take a picnic, One of the few places where the red quirrel survives.

 Corfe Castle

Corfe Castle is 7 miles away and is a village tucked away under the famous Norman Castle. It boasts several inns and eating places, and is a must if in the vicinity’


 Swanage Bay

Swanage a traditional small seaside town is 2 miles distant and is good for shops eating places, fun play park, small theatre, Tennis courts, and one of the cleanest beaches in Britain.

 Durlston Country Park

Durlston Country park in Swanage with  its cliff top walk  is a naturalists delight. A breeding spot for sea birds

 Bournemouth

Bournemouth is to be reached over the Studland//Sandbanks ferry and is good for shopping and the more lavish entertainment. .

 Poole Quay

Poole is also worth a visit with it’s quaint quay and park. Not to mention an extensive shopping high street and Arndale centre.
